How do I supress the ADS wallpaper on our systems? I would like a blank desktop. I tried deleting the ADSLOAD.BMP file, but it simply reappears upon reboot. Using the following configuration:
Graphics Client Plus nkload.bin ver 4.10.23 smartio.bin ver 4434-4017N

The ADSLOAD.BMP file is stored in a partition of flash and is copied to the Object Store at boot. You can read more about it in the CE Developer's Guide.
On the GC Plus, you can turn off the logo with the following entry in the ADSLOAD.HWT file:
0xC0000F00 0x00000001 ; Boot logo: [00=none] 01=ADS logo
You will have to reload the ADSLOAD.HWT file using a CF card as described in the CE Developer's Guide.

Mr. Kidder,
Thanks for the reply. Are you talking about the boot logo? I already have the boot logo disabled. I am looking to disable the Windows Wallpaper on the desktop after CE is loaded. Any info on how to accomplish this?

The simplest way is to replace the ADSLOAD.BMP file in flash with either an empty bitmap or a simple square filled with the desktop color. |

Mr Tacke,
Thanks, I replaced the ADSLOAD.bmp with a 1x1 pixel file. It worked great!
Thanks, John |
