Hi

We are carrying out the following steps on AGX boards and are having some strange problems!

Step 1 - load CE 4.2 OS from Flash Card
Step 2 - configure our modem on com 3 to run at 115200 baud by sending AT commands
Step 3 - configure our dial up connection to 115200 baud
Step 4 - Save registry

Now it seems every second time we cycle power to the agx, that the OS does not fully load and stops at this point (from debug, set to com1 via adsload.ht):

FlashFX Disk Detected: Ver 5.10 (Build 492)

Edited by akidder 20-Oct-2004: Change subject from "load" to "launch" to clarify that this issue does not deal with loading CE from a CF card into onboard flash. Format debug output.

Just to add to this - I have found that the problem is not caused by any changes to the wince dialup connection or registry changes it is purely down to changing the baud rate on our modem.
Why should this prevent the os from loading?

It sounds like this issue might have to do with saving registry, more than the baud rate.

Am I infering correctly from the "Saved Registry will be restored." message that you're using the persistent registry and saving it with RegFlushKey()?

Hi Drew

I have completely isolated the problem down to the modem.
Even if I increase the modem speed to ABOVE 9600 directly to the modem using my laptop and hyperterminal and then load the OS and make NO changes - CE fails to load. If I then change the speed back to 9600 OR BELOW , CE does load.

This seems to be an occurence on a lot of boards (80%), but not all.
Could it be an AGX firmware/hardware revsion that is causing this?
(As all our modems are identical hardware and firmware).

Thanks

Graham
