Q: How can I adjust Vee on my Development System?
Eurotech products with a Vee circuit allow you to adjust the output voltage two ways. You select the desired adjustment mode with a jumper. Consult your device's user guide for jumper number and location.
- Manual control
Rotate the Vee potentiometer to set the target voltage. If a display is not connected, apply a load close to that of the panel you are using to set the voltage accurately.
- Software control
If the device jumpers are set for software control of Vee, you can adjust Vee using the ADSmartIO controller. Note that the pot, if installed, always affects the output Vee voltage. In production, Vee is usually set to a voltage for room-temperature operation; software can then adjust Vee to compensate for temperature changes.

Customizing the Vee Circuit
While the Vee circuit on ADS products is designed to be flexible in the voltages it can supply (positive/negative, VR1 adjustment, etc.), we often make adjustments to the circuit for specific LCD displays. This involves changing one or more resistors in the Vee generator circuit at the factory.
If your application uses a passive LCD display, your ADS single-board computer may need to be tuned to drive that display. This tuning is typically performed the first time you order a board configured for that display.
If you change to a passive display after ordering from us, make sure to check in with us to make sure that the ADS product you are using is configured for the Vee voltage you'll need. |
