We are currently using a USB Drive (intell Z-U130 value solid state drive 2G) which is always connected to the Bitsy Xb. The problem that we are seeing is that from a system power on the drive is not enumerated, but if we switch to stand-by then back on the drive enumerates correctly and can be browsed. I think that this may be related to the loading of the windows drivers during initial boot and the device connecting before the bitsy has booted completley.

Is there a way to force the enumeration of the USB once the bitsy Xb board has fully booted.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the details.

A couple of questions:
- Does the device enumerate correctly when inserted after power-up?
- Is your USB drive connected through a hub, or directly to the BitsyXb/personality board?

You're may be right that the USB drivers might not be enumerating the device properly the first time through. We don't see this issue with devices we have here, so we may need to have you send one of yours for us to test with.

- Yes the device enumerates when inserted after power-up.
- The device is connected through a hub.

Is there anyway of disabling the host controller in the boot sequence and changing so that it is only enabled at the very end of the boot, or is there a command that will allow the BitsyXb to re-init the USB controller?

We are unable to reproduce the problem here with our BitsyXb. Please contact us with the serial number (the one with a bar code) and/or the configuration number (900118-0xxxx) so we can replicate your setup exactly. Let us know if you have changed anything from the way it was shipped. If the problem still can't be reproduced, you will need to submit an RMA (Topic 1476)

Serial number of my device is RMDJE8

900118-0100RA7

621118-0000RA4

Is there anyway that we can change when the host controller is enabled on power/boot, or is there anyway to cause the device to re-enumerate anything connected to the USB host via software?

Thanks for your follow-up question.

Given that we haven’t been able to reproduce this issue on our end with other USB Thumb Drives, we will need to be able to reproduce the issue with your set-up and USB Thumb Drive.

We will be taking this issue up directly with you and you should be receiving an email with the RMA Request details very soon.

Thanks!
