I see that there is some code for dealing with sleep mode in C++. What is the recommended approach for doing this in C#? Is there some example code?

It's going to be pretty similar. Basically you'll register for a named system event and wait on that - typically in a worker thread - and when the even fires, you'll unblock and handle whatever process you want.
