I see some LVDS panels on your list of supported displays, but the Graphics Master manual doesn't say anything about how to connect to an LVDS dsplay. Can you elaborate?

Thanks, Bill

Hi Bill. We have a small LVDS dongle (board) that plugs into the display connector. It converts the digital signals to the LVDS used by the display. This board works well on our Graphics Client Plus and Bitsy, too.

If you'd like to use an LVDS display that's on our list, let us know. I can get you the cable drawings and display drivers, and we can give you a quote on the cost of that dongle.

Details about the LVDS adapter are posted at topic 1160.

Background
LVDS (Low-Voltage Differential Signaling) is a data transmission standard that serializes data onto differential wire pairs. This allows high-speed data to be sent across longer and fewer wires.

LVDS is often used in laptops to connect between the display and the base. LVDS reduces the number of wires that must pass through the hinge and also reduces the electromagnetic emissions (EMI) from the display data.

For reading about LVDS, you might take a look at this IEC tutorial on LVDS.

For further reading about displays on our products, see the display topic index.
