For those of you who want to use managed code (C# or VB.NET) the Everett final beta is now available to MSDN subscribers. Here's the release note:
Microsoft is pleased to announce the release to manufacturing (RTM) of the .NET Compact Framework technology, a platform and runtime that enables enterprise developers to take advantage of a single Visual Studio .NET integrated development experience to harness the power of managed code and XML Web services on mobile devices.
Equally important, Visual Studio .NET 2003 beta customers will be free to deploy production applications immediately based on the .NET Compact Framework via an upcoming "Go Live" license. The Go Live license lifts the beta software license restriction on deploying production applications, enabling developers to transform their enterprises through richer mobile applications today.
Details on the "go-live" terms will be published to msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/device within the next few weeks. The Visual Studio .NET 2003 beta is now available to MSDN Subscribers.
