hi, how can i measure the power consumption of the Graphics Master board? I have the development kit (with a display attached). I do not want to measure power of the display, back lite etc. just the board. Can I do this without "cutting wires"?
thanks

To measure current, most meters require that you route the device power through the meter. That may require cutting wires, depending on how you're powering your Graphics Master.

To find out how much power only the board is consuming, disconnect the display and backlight during your tests.

The StrongARM SA-1110 processor can draw as much as 1W more power when it is running at 100% than when idle (take a look at section 6.2.5 of the recent update to the Bitsy Plus manual for a graphical illustration; the manual is at topic 679). You can load the processor down by running a data-intensive application several times concurrently. I've found that running six or seven copies of Polygons will put such a load on the CPU.
