Can I use evc 4.0 to develop for an ADS board running ce 3.0? I have downloaded and installed evc 4.0, can I now dload the hpc 2000 sdk and apply it and be up and running?

Thanks for your question. There are a couple pieces to your question, which I'll address individually:
  • You can run eVC 3.0 apps on CE.NET, but not vice versa (i.e. you can't run eVC 4.0 apps on CE 3.0). If you're using MFC, you'll have to bring the MFCCE30.DLL file over to your 4.0 device.


  • For new application development, you should probably update your system to CE.NET (CE 4.x). If you're using the GC Plus, you might need a new boot ROM to support the larger images (see forum topic 1039 for details).


  • If you're maintaining 3.0 code, you should use eVC 3.0 and the HPC2000 SDK.


  • The tools for the various versions of CE are listed at forum topic 746. Each version uses a different SDK. HPC2000 is for CE 3.0.
