Media player stops playing audio files

I am currently working on an application that plays many wav files (one after another) for long periods of time. It seems that after heavy use, the media player stops actually outputting the file. I don't see any errors, but no audio can be heard. I am using a com interface to media player to play my files because they are in the GSM format. What I am wondering is if anyone else has experienced this or if there is a way to reset the media player control without power reset. Thanks.
