Q: RS-485 multidrop doesn't seem to work on my Graphics Client.
There can be several reasons for this.
You must set "RS485"=dword:1 in the [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\Serial] registry key of the onboard registry file, ADSLOAD.REG.
Older Graphics Client boards require a different transceiver to work in multidrop configurations. Contact ADS if you have multidrop requirements. ADS WinCE builds 1.55 and later support RS-485 multidrop capabilities. All versions will work with RS-422.
I am using the graphics client plus RS485 port for a half-duplex multi-drop application (modbus). I am running linux 2.4.19. What are the issues with the transceiver mentioned above? The board revision I have is rev B (170110-8000B)
The issue raised about "older graphics client boards" refers only to the "Graphics Client" not the "Graphics Client Plus". The Graphics Client Plus hardware does not have this problem.
