Is there any chance I could get a version of the personality board that uses shorter board to board header connectors and standoffs? It looks like there might be 1/8" of clearance over the PCMCIA connector, and the smaller bard stacking height would help me fit in to an existing housing.

No such option currently exists on the Bitsy Personality Board. A physical modification to the headers could be done, but the 1/8" gap is there to keep a clearance space between the botton solder joints of the connector board and the metal frame of the PCMICA connector. Shortening the gap is not recommended.
If a decrease in the height is a requirement for your project, e-mail our sales group, and they can assist you with the possible options.
