This note is provided to highlight a change to the on-board NOR flash used on the TITAN board. The key difference is that the P flash requires slightly slower chip select timings.
On Linux based TITAN systems, RedBoot needs to be updated to v1i5 to support the newer device. Linux images created for the TITAN can be used on P flash based boards by applying the latest Redboot version.
On Windows CE based units, no change is required because the flash timings setup by eBOOT already meet the P flash requirements.
Boards ordered without an operating system are always supplied with Redboot v1i5 so would not be affected unless a user downgraded the RedBoot version by loading an older 32MB Linux flash image that contained pre-v1i5 RedBoot.
Summary This Product Notice serves as notification of the planned End-of-Life (EOL) of the Version 1 TITAN board.
Reason for EOL Several components used on the TITAN V1I1 board have been discontinued by their respective manufacturers with no alternative offering that meets the existing component form, fit or function.
