We are interfacing the XB as a serial device over USB to a PC. Anyone know you can tell if the board is plugged into the PC. I know that is probably pretty simple but it seems to be stumping people at my office.

What version of OS is on your PC? Do you have Activesync (Win XP?) installed? If so, you should see the monitor "discover" the BitsyXb board assuming the BitsyXb has CE loaded on it.

We the interface we are using to the PC looks like a Serial port on the PC side. I do not think we are using Activesync. Sorry about being short on details.
