VGX freezes part of the way through bootup

We are running WinCE 5.0 on the VGX. My problem is that during boot, the VGX hangs at a certain point. I am reading the serial debug port through Hyper Terminal. Every time I have tried booting, the last boot loaded message displayed is "Initializing ADSmartIO Driver...". I have also tried to re-kernel the VGX. I got messages saying that the various files written for the re-kernel were successful, but it still hangs at the same message. Any suggestions?

SGV3000,

We would recommend that you erase the flash before reloading your VGX. If your bootloader is recent, you could put a file named ADSLOAD.FMT (contents are irrelevant, the filename is important) onto your load media and that will erase your flash. If that does not work for you, you can consult our online CE manuals and/or VGX manuals on how to accomplish this.
