Running Windows CE v3.0.
I put storage card 1 in the drive and invoke Explorer to view the data. I remove it and put in storage card 2. I select View->Refresh but it does not see the new storage card. It is only when I reset that the new data is recognized. Shouldn't the View->Refresh do the same thing as the reset? What should I do?

(I'm new to this development environment.)

It should dynamically change without even the need to call View | Refresh. What Platform (hardware) and ADS Image version are you running? It will be displayed through the debug port at startup.

The hardware is ADS GMaster running CE v3.0 (Strong Arm processor).

My engineer (I'm the project manager) told me "ads maxall+sa1110" to the answer.

Does this help?

Not really. We need to know specifically what image version you're running (3.??). Again, this information will be sent out the device's debug port at boot.

I've replicated the issue you're seeing by doing the following:

1. Insert card 1
2. Quickly remove, insert and remove again card 1. ('Storage Card' remains in the Explorer window)
3. Insert card 2

This only occurs if I do the above steps in less than 1 second.

I've also replicated it by doing the following:

1. Insert card 1
2. Remove card 1 and quickly insert card 2

The second method was difficult to do physically fast enough to cause the problem, though I did get it once.

It looks like the device didn't have time to recognize the removal and unmount the file system before it it got the next card insertion. I've submitted the issue to our engineering department for investigation. Until it is resolved, I recommend that when removing a card you wait for the card filesystem to unmount (it will disappear in explorer), which typically takes less than 1/2 second.
