Looking the at the CF socket it appears extensions or guides of some sort could slot into the sides.. our GM board is mounted just out of sight, but fairly frequent access to the CF socket is needed. Can you supply the brand name/model of the socket you've used or guides for same?

Thanks,

Hi Brett:

Thanks for your post. It's a good question. The short answer is that there's not a ready ejector solution for the Graphics Master CF socket.

The longer answer is that we use FCI part number 62453-022 for the J24 CompactFlash socket. As you noted, this socket does not include an ejector. FCI makes an ejector version of the CF socket, but its left-side ejector button would interfere with both the JP16/17/22 headers (which could be removed in most applications) and the mounting hole (which should be secured in applications using a CF card).

I understand from our team that this particular ejector part doesn't come apart (or go back together) as readily as the PCMCIA ejector, so it probably would not be practical to remove the left-eject hardware to secure or remove the board.

FCI doesn't list a right-side eject model, but it might not hurt to ask them if they do. Such a part would fit on the board, possibly even with a PCMCIA ejector installed.

You might take a closer look at their data sheet for further details: http://www.fciconnect.com/pdffiles/datasheets/950510-026.pdf

I hope this information helps. Let us know if you find more details that are helpful.
