We are using the rev 2 of the BitsyX, bootloader version 4.6, running MontaVista LINUX PE 3.0, kernel version 2.4.18.

We are using the PCMCIA socket - 1 (CF interface) as a high speed parallel interface. We are using EXT_IRQ1 as one of the interrupts. As soon as the inetrrupt is serviced, the system gets locked for some duration of time (varies between 3 to 15 seconds). On analysis, we concluded that IRQ157 is being asserted very frequently during this period. The system is unstable during this period. It stablizes after the lockout period mentioned above. Once stable, IRQ157 is not asserted anymore.

Is this issue related to topic Id 1152 under Windows CE? If yes, how can we upgrade the CPLD firmware? Are there any other solutions/patches available?

All our boards have been shipped before September 15, 2003.

When the system experiences this situation, how frequently is the interrupt being asserted? At any time is the interrupt asserted and not detected? Since this resource is supported by direct connection to the CPU, it falls under the timing requirements established by the chip manufacturer. This requirement is that adjacent edges either rising or falling must not occur within 1uS or the edge may not be properly detected to generate an interrupt.

The CPLD firmware change has no bearing on the use of EXT_IRQ1.

We are pretty sure that the Interrupt once asserted will remain stable until the ISR is entered and SW takes some action. Hence the possibility of the interrupt having some edges 1uS after it is asserted does not arise.
Also we have noticed that the Stabilisation time varies from one Bitys-X to another and the variation is as large as 5 minutes.
