Q: My network requires that I send additional information to my DHCP server to get an address lease. How can I configure CE to send or receive additional DHCP options?

There are two categories of option support in DHCP: requested options, which are used to obtain additional information from the server, and send options, which are used to give additional information to the server. Refer to RFC 1533 for a full list of DHCP-defined options, but this Microsoft article gives some details on adding DHCP options by setting one or both of the following registry keys:


HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\adapter_name\Parms\TcpIp\DhcpOptions
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\adapter_name\Parms\TcpIp\DhcpSendOptions
