Is it possible to control the contrast and the intensity of the backglight by software? (Bitsy board)

Yes. Using the SIOBackLightPwm() and/or SIOBacklightVEEPwm() functions from the ADSmartIO library, you can programmatically adjust these levels.

Take a look at the ADSmartIO documentation for more detailed information.

I am only getting a dc voltage on the BACKLIGHT PWM pin (Bitsy J3 pin 16) when using the SIOBackLightPwm() function. My backlight inverter requires a PWM signal not a dc voltage level. Is there a different function than the SIOBackLightPwm() that will give me the PWM signal or is it limited to a dc level voltage.

Hi Paul:

The PWM signal is filtered by a 1.2k resistor and 1uF capacitor. We can remove the capacitor if you only need raw PWM in your application. Drop us a line directly and let's see what makes sense.
