I have tried changing the adsload.reg entry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEPlatformVGX]
"LaunchCEShell"=dword:0

but it seems to have no effect. The desktop shows no matter what I set this to. After booting I ran regedit and the key is set to zero but the desktop still shows.

How can I remove the desktop on a VGX board running WinCE 5.0?

Windows CE Kernel for ARM (Thumb Enabled) Built on Jun 24 2004 at 18:25:00

Microsoft Windows CE Ver. 5.0 (build 1400)

VGX Windows CE Ver.(5.00.26 VGX_Pro_Hive)

Is that what you are asking? I don't know what board rev...

Use the key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Platform]
"LaunchCEShell"=dword:0

The use of the key has changed over our many platforms.
For the VGX, this is the key to use.
