Q: I can't find a DLL file in the Windows folder that I expected to see. Are you sure it's installed?

  • You can view hidden and system files from the command prompt by using either the "attrib" command or "dir /a" (eg. "dir /a /p /on \windows\*.dll").

  • (For Windows CE 2.12) The file may be part of a CE module. You can list all files in a folder by running the command prompt (CMD.EXE) and executing the ATTRIB command. This will display file attributes. Files whose attributes begin with 0x20 are part of a module and are not displayed by Windows CE Explorer (they are, however, listed by the Bsquare FileStore application in CE 2.11). Files whose attributes begin with 0x08 are stored as files and are visible to the user.

Another option to see if a system DLL was included in the particluar build you are using is to check the BIB File included with the web download of the image.
