FileHandler is a basic application showing how to write to the filesystem using the CreateFile and WriteFile APIs. FileHandler shows how to write in either ANSI or Unicode text. Extending it to write binary data would be fairly simple.

Download the source and compile VB file: Rev 2 (7k ZIP)

Revision 2 Updates

FileHander has been expanded to include:

- Reading the file contents via the ReadFile API
- Displaying the file contents in Hex or ASCII
- Writing sample binary data to the file
