Can Windows CE run "headless"? THat is, is it possible to build an image which does not contain the graphics modules? My understanding is that it can be, but what affect would this have on the ADS boot loader? For example, image size and the HWT file?

Thanx!

Sure. Take a look at the notes in this topic. We haven't created builds that have the GDI drivers entirely removed from them.

With custom image builds on the graphics master, which are not 8mb, 10mb or one of the others, how does the boot loader handle these? Let's say a 6mb Image...

I'm not refering a registry setting, but to a Windows CE build which does not include the GDI at all.

Thanx!

Good question. Two entries in the HWT file tell the loader how much flash to set aside for the image and where the image should be loaded into RAM.

The CE memory map illustrates how the various parameters in the ADSLOAD.HWT and .REG files are used to configure a system.
