I'm using a Graphics Client Plus card with Win CE 3.0. What is the procedure for making a custom splash screen appear during the last phase of the boot process? Also, are there any ways to reduce boot time? (Currently about 16 seconds.)

Thanks for your note. You can't currently change the boot logo, but you can suppress the ADS logo during boot by changing the following line in the ADSLOAD.HWT file:
0xC0000F00 0x00000001 ; Boot logo: [00=none] 01=ADS logo

If your application requires a different boot logo, it can be built into a custom boot ROM for your GC Plus. Drop us a line if your application requires this feature and we'll give you a quote for the work.

If your application requires PDA-like "instant on" performance, you might consider toggling the system between Run and Suspend modes. Suspend mode on the GC Plus draws less than 3mA when primary power supplies are cut off. To toggle between sleep and wake states, momentarily short the pins of J1.
