Intel Integrated Performance Primitives (IPP)
Intel's IPPs are code libraries higly-optimized for the StrongARM processor. These libraries include over 2500 functions that can significantly improve performance in computationally-intensive operations. Libraries are available for Windows CE and for Linux.
Here are the kinds of functions included in the IPPs (from What are Intel IPPs?):
Signal Processing Functions:
• Data manipulation, windowing, conversion, arithmetic and logical operations
• Filters and Transforms
• Statistics, Audio
• Signal generation
Image Processing Functions:
• Data manipulation, arithmetic and logical functions, copy and conversions
• Geometric operations (scale, rotate, warp)
• Color conversion, alpha composite, gamma correction
• General and specific filters
• FFT, DCT, wavelet transform
Computer Vision Functions:
• Image pyramid (resample & blur)
• Filters - Laplace, Sobel, Scharr, Erode, Dilate
• Motion gradient, Flood fill, Canny edge detection
• Snakes, Optical flow

IPP 4.0 Released (Nov 2003)
Intel released version 4.0 of the IPPs. It appears there is now a charge of US$199 for each of the Linux and Windows distributions. However, this includes royalty-free distribution of applications and a year of support--a pretty good deal by most measures for customers who need to optimize 2D graphics on the StrongARM.
