Q: I'm not sure I'm going to have good quality of Internet service for my multimedia-over-IP application. How can I increase the size of the data buffer?

You can increase the duration of buffering by changing the following keys programmatically (the ADS loader does not currently support changing the HKCU branch of the registry):

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\NetShow\Player\General]
  "Buffering Time"=dword:7530 ; 30000 (max)
  "Maximum Buffering Time"=dword:7530 ; 30000 (max)

Thanks to consultant Mike Stovall (http://www.hswinc.com) for this tip.
