Q: Do ADS Devices have software readable serial numbers?

Some of the newer ADS devices support reading the serial number of the on-board flash, which is a unique 64-bit number.

Currently the feature is supported onthe following:
BitsyX - build 4.10.27 and later
AGX - build 4.10.02

We have several samples for reading the value at

Hello!

I tried out the example in Topic 1241 (C++). It does not work, because it returns different serial-number every time I reboot the AGX-board. It seems to be returning pointer-values or something random...

Examples of return-values I have got:
F684 0158 FB60 2004
0000 0000 C894 FFFF
88E0 000B 639A C228

I appreciate suggestions here!

Can you also gave an example of a valid serial number?
Are these serial numbers actually labelled on the cards?

Best rgds,
Tom Roar Pedersen

There were issues with getting flash serial number in older builds, where the code would return different values on the same board or similar values on different boards. Those issues have been fixed in recent builds on most of our systems, so make sure you are using the latest OS image. Please contact us if you have any questions.
