Right-angle and Board Stacking Options for AGX/VGX J4

The AGX and VGX products include a header behind the PCMCIA socket that brings out the CompactFlash bus signals. This connector is suitable for prototyping connections to CompactFlash devices or for using the port as an expansion bus.

AGX and VGX customers who plan to use the CompactFlash signals in their production application have a couple of factory options available for making use of the CF signals:

Right-angle Header

The Samtec part used on the AGX and VGX (ASP-100925-01) is a custom, vertical version of the Samtec HPT-125-01-L-D (right-angle) header. In production volumes, ADS can populate the right-angle header, instead. Your enclosure must provide card guides or other mechanical restraints for inserted cards.

Board Stacking

In applications where a daughter card will be connected to the AGX/VGX, ADS can populate Samtec FW series board stackers for J4. These mate with either FLE or CLP series, bottom-entry receptacles on the piggyback board. The height of the stackers depends on the height of the other board stackers.

You will need to establish a business agreement with ADS to build AGX boards with either the board stacking or right-angle options. Contact ADS Sales for details.
