Q: How can I find out what the MAC address is for the Ethernet adapter on my system?

You can find the MAC address of your system as follows:

1. Configure your ADS system for an Ethernet connection as specified in your operating system's manual, then connect it to a network and reset the system.

2. If you're using DHCP, determine the IP address that the DHCP server assigned to your system (in CE, you can type "ipconfig" at the command prompt).

3. "ping" your system from another computer, then "arp -a". The resulting table will display the physical (MAC) address of your ADS mobile device.

Current builds of Windows CE also store the MAC address in the "NetworkAddress" key of [HKLM\Comm\SMC90001\Parms].
