Q. How do I build microwindows or nanoX?

Note this is an old topic. Instead of using this old patch you should consider downloading the current microwindows source code into your debian full root file system with the command 'apt-get source microwindows'.

Starting with release 2.4.19_rmk7_pxa2_adsx4 for Xscale systems, you can build microwindows version 0.90 with the following steps.

1. FTP the microwindows tar file and the patch:

ftp://microwindows.censoft.com/pub/microwindows/microwindows-0.90.tar.gz

../developers/linux/files/Sample/microwindows-0.90.diff

2. Untar it:

tar xfz microwindows-0.90.tar.gz

3. Change into the newly extracted directory:

cd microwindows-0.90

4. Apply the patches:

patch -p1 < microwindows-0.90.diff

5. Change to the src directory:

cd src

6. Build the software:

make

7. You can create a tar file with the Microwindows/NanoX files from
the standard ramdisk with the command:

build_rd.sh

This file is called 'nanox.tar' and can be untared into a convenient
location on your system like /opt/nanox.
