Q: Can I use an 802.11g wireless card in my ADS system?

No. None of ADS' current boards support a 32-bit bus master. Today's high-speed wireless (Wi-Fi) network cards, both 802.11g and 802.11a, require a 32-bit CardBus bus master. Many new 10/100-baseT (like the LinkSys PCMPC200) also require CardBus and are likewise incompatible with ADS devices.

When selecting a NIC, make sure it uses a 16-bit PC Card bus interface (like the LinkSys PCMPC100) and not a 32-bit CardBus interface.

ADS currently is investigating new processors with 32-bit bus capabilities.
