Is there anything that can be done about the abysmal write speeds on the FlashFX Disk?

There seems to be little difference between _ftprintf and _fputts.
WriteFile is out of the question at 4 bytes/ms.

Trying to save data whilst under supercap power makes speed quite important.
Writing to
\file.txt 200 bytes/ms
\Storage Card 30 bytes/ms
\FlashFX Disk 15 bytes/ms

The apparent "slowness" of the FlashFX Disk is primarily due to two factors: 1. The actual write speed of the media and 2. The Datalight Driver that data must go through on its way to the media. There's really nothing that can be done about the media speed, but the driver can be changed.

The Datalight driver is tuned to do load leveling, which greatly improves the life of the Flash media, but has lower performance. If speed is more important that media life, it is possible to use the Intel IPSM driver, which doesn't load-level. If this option interests you, contact our sales staff via email or phone (301-490-4007) for more information.
