We are using a VGX with win CE 4.20.14 and often when we update ADSLOAD.REG or HWT the flashFX drive is filled with garbage "C's" as described in topic 1140. This problem is also similar to topic 992. Are there any fixes for this? |

I saw this too; it isn't real in the sense that the flash disk seemed fine after a "restart" (soft reboot). It does appear to be hosed until then, though. |

On the BitsyX (CE 4.20.12), Control Panel, Storage Properties it appears that some things can be done to the Flash FX Disk. Under Properties, Scan and Defrag are not enabled until the Partition is dismounted. However both fail quite quickly, presumably because the drive is dismounted.
I would like to verify that all is well on the FlashFX Disk. Can I use Scan/Defrag? Is there any way to check if anything is corrupted?

We are using BitsyX 4.10.35.
I would also be interested in some kind of scan/repair utility for the FlashFX Disk.
On occasion we see the free space report incorrectly, which causes us to run out of space. We can delete all the files in FlashFX Disk and it still reports that 1 or 2 Mb is being used.
The solution so far is to erase and reformat which is not a practical solution. |

You are both correct that the scan and defragmentation features of Storage Mangager currently fail when used with the FlashFX disk volume. We corresponded with Datalight a couple of weeks ago about this, and they gave us a fix that we will be incorporating into future builds.
The only solution I'm aware of for recovering lost clusters on a disk is to either scan the disk or reformat it. We'll investigate to see if other solutions available for existing CE builds. |

How to "either scan the disk or reformat it" is the problem. Is there some way to do it other than via the Control Panel? |

Thanks. Unfortunately it requires exclusive access to the disk, which I guess the datalight driver does not want to relinquish. Seems to work on a Falsh Card though. |

Is there any progress on being able to check the 'disk'?
Are any tools available to check the state of RAM? In fact, is there any way to run a diagnostic of a BitsyX that appears to be failing? |

Has there been any progress on this issue?
Having seen 'corrupted files', generally with no EOF marker, that nothing can deal with (Active Sync, Explorer etc) or delete, myself, and had them reported by customers, forcing our users to reformat a FlashFX Disk is not the way forward. |
