Our stock kernel has the OV511 driver compiled into it. We have successfully used this USB Web Cam with our stock kernel:

Creative WebCam Pro (model PD1030)

Please note that there are cameras with very similar names that have incompatible hardware.

Other cameras with the very common OV511 compatible chips are likely to work fine (but there are no guarantees). Here is a site that lists various web cams and the chips they use.

Cameras with other drivers may also work well, but only after the driver is built with the kernel or loaded as a module.

(Note that the AGX uses a Phillips USB chip that does not support the isochronous transfers required for Web Cams.)
