Under XP professional, I have Embedded Visual Studio 4.0 SP4 and ActiveSync 4.1. Although active sync's file explorer always works, I cannot download code via EVC, debug code, use the remote registry editor, remote spy++, etc. unless I DISABLE my network adapter. This is not very convenient. This is with a VGX board with CE 4.20.43.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Thanks.

Thanks for your note. I guess you're using USB debugging? ActiveSync 4.1 and later dropped support for Ethernet, though I didn't realize it was as exclusive as you're describing.

I don't know if 4.2 (released last week) resolves the issue. You might also consider dropping back to 3.8. We have ActiveSync download links posted at topic 218.

Yes, I'm using USB. It sometimes does work with my adapter enabled, but it works with it disabled 100% of the time. I will try either 4.2 or 3.8 and let you know if it helps. Thanks.
