Common Issues with Developing in Visual Studio 2005

Listed here are common issues developers have run into while developing applications using Visual Studio 2005.

  1. Unable to connect to a WinCE 4.2 board

    • Make sure you have the .NET Compact Framework 2.0 Service Pack 1 Patch installed. This issue is listed as fixed in the release notes.
    • You may also try installing the .NET CF yourself on the board if Visual Studio is unable to push the .cab file down to your system.
      The .cab file can be found on your development pc in the following folder:
      C:Program Files\Microsoft.NET\SDK\CompactFramework\v2.0\WindowsCE\wce400\armv4\NETCFv2.wce4.ARMV4.cab.

  2. Unable to set breakpoints, or breakpoints are not working
