DIP Switches on Bitsy G5

Functionality

DIP switches on Bitsy G5 do NOT have the same functionality as on other Bitsy boards. They are exclusively used by the processor and the user should not attempt to change their default position.

Unlike other boards in the Bitsy family, the 2 DIP switches on Bitsy G5 cannot be used for updating flash content from files on a CF card or for controlling boot mode.

Updating flash files

To update flash files on Bitsy G5, follow these steps:

- Monitor the output from the board's serial port on your terminal emulator while the system boots

- Press the space bar on your computer's keyboard when you see the following message displayed and a counter counting down:

  Press [SPACE] to enter Debug menu.
  Initiating image Run in n seconds.

- When the Bitsy G5 Boot Loader Debug Menu is displayed, type 1 to select the following option:

  (1) Update files from Storage card

NOTE: Do not disconnect power or reset the system before the operation of copying files to flash completes.
