Eurotech provides instructions for installing and using several Linux distributions on the Catalyst, but does not provide free direct support for using the Catalyst in this way. These instructions are intended to help you install this distribution in the most appropriate way for this hardware, and to help you with common problems involved in using a this distribution on the Catalyst. If you need other support with a Linux distribution, we recommend using the distrubution's own support channels.

In order to install Fedora, you will need a USB stick of at least 1 gigabyte in size, which will be used to boot the Fedora installer. Prepare this USB stick as follows:

Visit http://fedoraproject.org/en/get-fedora and download a Fedora live CD.
Visit http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ and download a version of UNetbootin appropriate for your Windows or Linux desktop computer.
Run UNetbootin and select "Diskimage", give it the location of the Fefora CD image you downloaded, and have it write that image to the USB stick.
Do not let UNetbootin reboot your computer; instead Exit.
Alternatively, rather than using UNetbootin, if you have a desktop PC running Fedora or Windows, you can use the method described here to put the CD image on the USB stick: http://docs.fedoraproject.org/install-guide/f11/en-US/html/ch02s04s02.html

Installation to external USB disk:

Attach the USB stick containing the Fedora installer to the Catalyst.
Attach a keyboard, mouse, and ethernet.
Attach a USB disk drive (or large USB memory stick). Note that all information on this drive will be erased by the installer.
Power on the Catalyst.
The USB stick will boot into a live Fedora desktop. You can use this to try Fedora before installing it to disk.
Double click on "Install to Hard drive" icon on the desktop.
Answer installation questions.
When you are asked which disk to install to, choose "Use the Entire Drive" and select the USB disk you connected earlier, that you want to install to. De-select the internal SSD.
After the installation completes, the installer will prompt you to restart. Remove the USB stick and choose "Ok".
Once the installation completes, reboot the system, and remove the USB stick that was used to boot the Fedora installer.
Fedora will boot, ask a few more setup questions, and then start a desktop environment.

Known issues:

Fedora does not support the Catalyst's touchscreen. In order to use the touchscreen, a third-party driver is needed. This topic describes how to obtain, install, and use the touch screen driver.

If the Catalyst is suspended using Fedora's GUI, there is no known way to resume.
