I have the Catalyst EC development system and wanted to know how to convert comm ports 3 and 4 to RS232. The manual mentions pulling the mode pin low, but I don't know if this means there is something to change software wise, or if I should ground the pin. Is there more complete instructions on how to acomplish this?

Thanks,

John Vickers

John:

If you have Eurotech's pig tail (Part Number 610123-43001E) for J17 and J18 you will see that pin 4 (MODE) is wired to pin 5 on the DB9 connector. Pin 5 on the DB9 connector is gound. So as long as you have gound connected on the other end, MODE will be low.
