Is it possible to disable/enable the PCMCIA socket by software ?
I would like to do this to save power when not using my PCMCIA card.

Good question! While it would be possible to expose the low-level functions to turn off the PCMCIA socket, we're not sure that CE would react favorably to a card being turned off (we think it might register as a card "power failure").

Generally, if you are using a card that draws a lot of power, the drivers for that card will support power manangement functions. Most PC Cards are sensitive to the fact that they will be plugged into battery-powered and portable devices, and many incorporate automatic power management. You might also take a look at the SDK for the product you're using to see if it exposes power management functions.

If you have further questions or a specific application, feel free to contact us directly to discuss solutions to meet your needs.
