Q: Every time I power down, the system loses the application and/or drivers that I installed with ActiveSync. How can I make it easier to reinstall them?

You can save the installation files to the flash disk for quicker re-installation. Try the following:
  1. Locate the CAB file for the application on your PC. Most applications for Windows CE copy a CAB file to the "C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\\" folder.

  2. Copy that CAB file to the "FlashFX Disk\" folder of your device. You can do this with ActiveSync or via an ATA PC card.

  3. Set the file to be "Read-only" (select file, then File->Properties and check Read-only). This will prevent the CAB extractor from deleting the file when it has completed the installation.

You should now be able to double-tap the CAB file to perform the application installation.
