Q: I get the message "You much first establish a partnership with a desktop computer before running ActiveSync" when I use the /remote parameter.

You may not have completed a serial ActiveSync connection first or you might have logged on as a "Guest" when you connected serially. Select "Yes" to the desktop PC dialog query, " when prompted if you want to create a partnership with the mobile device.
