Q: There is a "pop" at the start and end of sound files played from CE. My application is using the UCB1200 audio driver. How can I correct this?

There are a few possible solutions. Try them in this order:
  1. You may have an older build of Windows CE. Try downloading a newer build with the latest build of the audio driver.

  2. Increase the audio driver thread priority in the ADSLOAD.REG file. Lower numbers result in higher priority:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev]
      "Priority256"=dword:67 ; 0x67=103 [default: 0xF9 = 249]

    Note that higher priority settings may affect responsiveness of user interface.

  3. Reduce popping in your audio by placing a series capacitor in line with the speaker.
