Q: I set the IP addresses in the control panel, but when I reset the system, the settings were lost. How can I set them?
All Windows CE settings are stored in RAM, which is erased when power is removed or the processor is reset. Your product may have a backup battery that preserves the contents of RAM at all times. Evaluation systems are not shipped with such a battery. However, there is non-volatile memory in which is stored the operating system and configuration files that you can modify. See the ADS CE Developer's Guide for details about the ADSLOAD.REG file, in particular, in which you can store IP addresses for your system. You can also download the latest REG file to modify for your use.
The application "AppSuite" allows you to type in IP addresses directly, then saves them to the ADSLOAD.REG file. Note that Appsuite only modifies the SMC90001 key (onboard Ethernet); you will have to edit the ADSLOAD.REG file by hand to store NE2000-compatible PC card addresses.
