Q: When I use Ethernet or access the PCMCIA slot on my device, the screen flickers. How can I fix this?
Eurotech ships evaluation systems configured for optimal display performance. Flicker or jitter on the display can occur when PCMCIA or Ethernet access utilizes the system bus too long. The StrongARM display driver runs out of data to send to the panel and the display loses synchronization.
If your application will use Ethernet or PCMCIA, try the following to improve display performance:
If you have a standard evaluation system, update your ADSLOAD.HWT file with the latest engineering release of the configuration files (Bitsy, Graphics Master, Graphics Client Plus). LQ64D343 display drivers were updated in February of 2002.
You can try increasing the LCCR3 entry in ADSLOAD.HWT. This divisor sets the pixel clock rate for the display. By slowing down the pixel clock, you eliminate occasional contention on the system bus between the display driver and PCMCIA or Ethernet drivers. If LCCR3 is set to 0x00300002 you might try setting it to 0x00300003.
