The ADS Windows CE Build Selector

The CE Build Selector is a database and ASP script that indexes the Windows CE builds for ADS products. The database lists some of the key features of the builds.

UPDATE

As of early 2006, we have discontinued use of the build selector in favor of linking builds directly on the revision history pages.

Use the information in the links at the bottom of this post to determine the contents and license model of a specific build.

Using the Build Selector

Select the product, amount of RAM installed and the CE version to get a listing of the builds that meet the criteria.

Here are further details about the information listed in the table:
  • Show All Images
Displays all builds for the product and CE version selected

  • Show Recommended Images
Typically indicates the most current CE images

  • Config[uration] Files
ADSLOAD.REG and ADSLOAD.HWT files that were used to test the build; note display that was used is usually the LQ64D343

  • Minimum Boot Code
Your system may need updated boot code to support the listed image.

  • Features in the build
Many of the rows describe features that are included in the build. There may be a check mark or version number to indicate its inclusion; blank means it is not included. Full details about the build are listed in the CE.BIB build; see below

Receiving Notification When a New Build is Added

It is often helpful to know when a new build has been posted. To receive notification when a new build has been posted, subscribe to the CE build history page for the product(s) of interest. We update those topic pages when new builds are added.

Here are links to the CE build history pages for various products: AGX, BitsyX
